Highway 2 Hottie Project February 1, 2008

 

Hello Friends,
I am on the Highway to Hottie! This is the name I’ve given my project. I want to compete in a figure competition in 2009. Look to the side menu for the page on figure competing. This site is going to log my journey to the new me. Below is my story. Please look around and reply with any support you can give!    

In 1997, I was 20 years old and weighed 140 when I got together with Karl. Shortly after, within 6 months I was so enveloped in our relationship that I got comfortable and gained 40 pounds! I started aerobics, walking, and dancing and lost 12 pounds when I found out I was pregnant in 2001. I gained 20 pounds during pregnancy which brought me to 198. I didn’t lose the pregnancy weight because within the year I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Look to the side menu for the page on hypothyroidism. So from 2002 to 2005 I had gained another 12 pounds. I got up to 210 in November of 2005. And that is when my whole life’s perspective started to change…

I was visiting with my lifelong friend, Lupita. We sat and talked about how we needed to start a weight loss journey together. We told ourselves that if we didn’t, we’d be visiting a year later complaining how we didn’t do a thing and finding ourselves in the same condition ~ unhappy with our physical selves. I started by walking with my coworkers on breaks. Then I started using my machine at home. I cut down on sodas and other junk. Two months later, after seeing results, I joined a gym and started seeing a trainer. I’ve been going to Gold’s Gym since January 2006 and have been loving every part of my training routines! The cardio and diet are where I struggle and you will see my journal entries along the way about that. Look to the side menu for my journal.
